How to Download Printables

Yay! You bought a printable! 🎉

So, now what?

You’re probably wondering how to download your file and print it out so you can start using it.

So, here are some common download instructions to get that printable off of your computer and into your hands.

You’ll receive an email with the link to download your file. Click on the link and it should automatically start downloading. Choose where you would like to save the file. I like to save mine to the Documents folder, but some people prefer to save it to DropBox or another “cloud”. It doesn’t matter, just pick someplace where you’ll be able to find it when you’re looking for it.

If you don’t se the email, give it a few minutes. Sometimes emails can take up to 30 minutes to come through. Please check your spam, junk, etc. folders. I’ve had stuff show up in them more times than I can remember.

Please use a desktop or laptop for downloading your files. Most mobile devices such as smartphones, iPads, or other tablets will not allow you to download through a link.

All files are sent to you in PDF format. Most computers have a program called Adobe Reader pre-installed on them. However, if your computer doesn’t have Adobe or another PDF reader, you'll need to install one to view your new printable. You can download Adobe Reader for free here.

If you can't find the file once it's downloaded, try checking your Downloads folder under My Computer. Or search the title of the file on your computer. That cute printable can run, but it can’t hide.

How to unzip a ZIP file:

Some digital products may be sent to you in a compressed ZIP file. Here are some directions to help you unzip the file. (Don’t worry, you can totally do this.😊)

On a PC:

1.Use the directions above to save the file to your computer, just like you would for a regular file.

  1. Right-click on the ZIP file. You may need to select, "Extract All." This will create a new file on your computer.
  2. Chose where you would like to save your file, just like we did before.
  3. If you have trouble downloading the file, try using a different browser. (Switch from Chrome to Firefox, etc.)

On a Mac:

Truthfully, I’ve never used a Mac, so I’m just relaying this information from Parallels.com. I hope it helps you.

Double click the zipped file

  1. Double-click on the zipped file to unzip any zipped file on your Mac.
  2. This will prompt the Archive Utility tool to unzip the files in the same folder the zipped file is in.
  3. Click appropriate icons to access the extracted files.

Right-click the zipped file and open it with Archive Utility

  1. Alternatively, you can right-click on the zipped folder.
  2. Select Open to unzip your file if Archive Utility is set as your default.
  3. If it's not, right-click and click Open With, and choose Archive Utility.
  4. Click appropriate icons to access the extracted files.
